Child Safety Standards
Last updated 14 October 2026.
WHAM has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page explains what is prohibited on WHAM, how to report it, and how we respond. It applies to the WHAM mobile apps and website.
Who can use WHAM
WHAM is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account (see our Terms of Service). If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we remove it.
What is prohibited
The following is banned everywhere on WHAM, including posts, replies, quotes, polls, images, videos, profile photos, display names, usernames and bios:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, real or generated, including links to it.
- Sexual or sexualised content involving anyone under 18.
- Grooming, or any attempt to contact, solicit or entice a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion, or threatening or blackmailing a minor with intimate content.
- Trading, requesting, advertising or promoting CSAM or child sexual exploitation, including through coded language.
- Child trafficking or any content that exploits or endangers children.
These rules are part of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
How to report
- In the app or on the website: open the menu on any post or profile, choose Report, and select Illegal content or Abuse. In the details, write that it concerns a child safety issue so it is reviewed first.
- By email: write to prathamagg02@gmail.com with the username and a link to the post or profile. Please do not attach or forward the material itself.
- Block and mute: you can block or mute any account immediately.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In India you can call 112, or Childline on 1098.
You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in).
How we respond
- Reports of child safety issues are reviewed by people and treated as the highest priority.
- Content that breaks these standards is removed, and the account is permanently suspended. We do not issue warnings first.
- We preserve the relevant information and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), Indian law enforcement and other competent authorities as required by applicable law, and we cooperate with their lawful requests.
- Reporters are never shown to the person reported.
- We remove violating content and accounts, and we review our practices and tools as the service grows.
Compliance with the law
We comply with applicable child safety laws, including India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and with the policies of the app stores that distribute WHAM.
